The “Process” is the protocol that serves as the structure and system that defines every TPM ministry session.

The “Principles” are the conceptual explanations for what happens in a ministry session.

“Purpose” refers to the many practical and theological reasons for why we learn, use, and freely share TPM.

“Supplements” consist of articles and exercises that cover subject matters which are not addressed within the areas of the Process, Principles or Purpose.

In the “Practice” section you can find helpful training tools and exercises that are designed for beginners and TPM veterans alike.

An Introduction to TPM

Welcome to Transformation Prayer Ministry (TPM). Over the last twenty plus years, untold hundreds of thousands of people from over 160 countries worldwide have benefited from this ministry tool as the Spirit has used it to bring about His genuine, lasting freedom and transformation. We are excited that you have joined us on this journey!

Whether you are new to TPM or a veteran from an earlier edition of the training, you will most benefit by beginning your study working through this introduction. Many important changes have been made since the release of former training (before 2016). This introduction will get you started on the right footing.

Preparing for Your First Ministry Sessions

If you are preparing for your first ministry session, make a diligent effort to read as many of the articles posted here as you can before your session so that you will have a better understanding of your role in the TPM Process. If you do not get through with all that is here come back and continue your study as you continue your journey. Your sessions will make more sense and flow more smoothly to the degree that you understand the Process, Principles and Purpose of TPM.

The Process of TPM

In this area of study, you will learn the essential elements of the TPM Process. Whether you are acting as the Mentoring Facilitator or the Mentee (the one being prayed with), learning the process is vitally important. In this section, we will discuss the various stages in the TPM Process, the questions that are asked, the roles of all who are involved, and much more. We encourage you to commit to learning the Process well and applying TPM as it is explained in this section.

Note: Please do not call your ministry “Transformation Prayer Ministry” if you are not strictly adhering to these instructions.

There are three levels of information that are available. This allows you to progressively build upon your knowledge as you move to higher levels of training.

The Principles of TPM

Every aspect of the TPM Process is based on several core principles. They are the explanation for why we do what we do in a ministry session. It is important to understand these underlying principles so that you can apply TPM with confidence and more easily share it with others.

For example, without learning the Principles of TPM, people are often prone to view TPM as a tool for pain management rather than as a means for identifying the lies we believe so we might look to Jesus for mind renewal. And if those who are being prayed with are not taught these principles, they will likely only seek to apply TPM when their pain becomes unmanageable; missing countless opportunities for refinement along the way.

The three levels of information allow you to progressively build upon your knowledge as you move to the higher levels.

The Purpose of TPM

Understanding the purpose of applying TPM just as important, if not more important, than learning how to apply the Process itself. You will want to know the true reasons for why we apply TPM – other than simply wanting to make the bad feelings to go away – so that you can take advantage of the many opportunities that God provides to have your faith refined and your minds renewed. The overall purpose of TPM is to cooperate with what God is accomplishing in us.

Important Note: What is proposed in the Purpose section of this training is our best attempt at explaining TPM from a biblical perspective. Although we believe that what we offer here can prove beneficial, we also realize that not all members of the Body of Christ agree on all points. That being said, if you find that you do not agree with all of the points made in this section, know that you can still effectively apply the Process of TPM. When you are studying the Purpose section, we encourage you to embrace what you can and hold loosely what you are unsure of; but when you are applying TPM, follow the Process exactly as it is taught.

The Purpose of TPM is comprised of three main elements; the Refinement of Our Faith, the Renewing of Our Minds, and the Transformation of Our Lives.

TPM Training Supplements

The TPM Training “Supplements” consist of articles and exercises that cover any subject matters which are not addressed within the areas of the Process, Principles or Purpose. These articles add to and expand the information covered in the primary sections of the training.

The various topics that are covered in this section include; the biblical basis for TPM, the history of “Theophostic Prayer Ministry,” our mission to take TPM to the world, pastors introducing TPM to their churches, and much more!
