The Essentials of TPM
by Ed Smith and Joshua Smith

The “Essentials of TPM” – SECOND EDITION is the latest edition and center-piece of the all new TPM training. This book will replace most of the articles posted on this website in the “Principles and Purpose” portion of the online training. It will soon be followed by a companion book entitled the “The TPM Process” that will become your field guide for administering a TPM session. The book “The Process of TPM” will replace the “Process” portion of the online training now posted.

In “The Essentials of TPM” -SECOND EDITION you will also learn some of the history behind TPM, become familiar with the principles that it is built upon, discover the intended purpose for which it is to be implemented, as well as be introduced to what is involved in applying this ministry process. Within its pages lie several paradigm shifts that may potentially challenge some of your currently held beliefs, but they also potentially offer a fresh perspective on experiencing the fruit of the Holy Spirit, practical applications of Scripture, explanations for the various trials we face in life, and reliable method for attaining genuine, lasting freedom through God’s loving involvement in your life.

Introducing “The Essentials of TPM”

In “The Essentials of TPM” you will learn some of the history behind TPM, become familiar with the principles that it is built upon, discover the intended purpose for which it is to be implemented, as well as be introduced to what is involved in applying this ministry process.

Components of the TPM Training

This “Essentials” book will be coupled with another training manual, “The TPM Process Manual,” which is scheduled to be released later this Summer. The TPM Process Manual will be your field guide for applying TPM in the context of a ministry session. It will offer a detailed explanation for everything that should occur in a TPM session. Another valuable component of the TPM training is the newly released book, “Effortless Forgiveness.” “Effortless Forgiveness” addresses many of the common questions that are asked regarding forgiveness within the context of TPM. It was also designed to offer a general overview of the TPM Principles. It is an effective tool that can be given to people who are new to TPM.

Replacing the Articles Online

The “Essentials” and “Process” books will replace much of what is currently posted on the TPM website. This was the plan from the beginning. The vast library of articles, videos, and practice sessions is the culmination of nearly four years of development and refinement which completely replaced the 2007 edition of the TPM training. The information found on the TPM website was to serve as a stopgap between the 2007 edition and the training that is currently being released (The “Essentials” and “Process” books). Any online articles that discuss concepts that are not covered in these two volumes will remain available on the website. We believe they will prove to be extremely beneficial to those who seek to “dig deeper.”

And with the help of the online “TPM Study Guide” (to be made available alongside the “Process” book) you will be able to navigate these three books over the course of 20 weeks. This study guide offers a suggested study path that is organized into weekly assignments. It explains which portions of each book should be read, which supplemental video should be viewed, and which training exercise should be practiced.

Digital and Hardcopy Available

Both the “Essentials” book and the “Process” book, along with the online articles, videos, and practice sessions, will all be available in digital format to everyone at no cost! Everything you need to know regarding the Purpose, Principles, and Process of TPM will be made freely available online. This is thanks to the generous support of those of you who have chosen to donate to this ministry!

And if you would like to own a physical “hard copy” of these books, they will be available to purchase. You are welcome to print your own copies from home, but it is likely less expensive to simply order them. And the company we use to print the material regularly offers sales and multi-copy discounts!

A New Season for TPM

It has been a long time coming, but we are excitedly anticipating that God will use this refined training to accomplish even more than we can even ask or think. He has already performed a miraculous work across the world through this ministry, but we fully expect this new training to usher in a new season of TPM to prove even more fruitful!

  1. I have had years of success with Theophostic Ministry. Is there any benefit with the new system for me? If so, what resources would I need?

  2. The early versions of TPM were effective and God used them mightily, however, the entire TPM process and principles have continually been improved and more biblically consistent over the years. The 2007 edition was the last hard-copy edit since this most revision. What we have done currently is BY FAR the best edition of the ministry model that we have released. MUCH has changed and the overall philosophy and ministry purpose has moved. There are several major paradigm shifts.

All of the new training will be posted online for free in the form of three books, articles, videos and practice exercises. Right now you can download the latest book “The Essentials of TPM” for free or order a hard-copy. The first book, “Effortless Forgiveness” is also there. We will soon release the “How to do a session book” titled “The TPM Process Manual” soon.

We will be doing live seminars in different locations this year as well.

I strongly encourage you to make the shift over to the new. There may be a little bit of a learning curve but it will be worth it.
    Blessings

  3. Hi Dr. Ed
    ,
I was at the training in Columbus this weekend and thoroughly enjoyed the training. I also bought the Essentials book. You mentioned a study guide to go through the book with. Where can I find it on the website? Also I wanted to ask if you felt orientation of the first three chapters were necessary before doing a ministry session? In the past, I have asked clients to go to the website and prepare for their session. Most of them haven’t. Any suggestions?

  4. The link that you are looking for is in the Essentials book https://www.transformationprayer.org/tpmstudyguide

Also, send your people to the website to the link on the homepage that says something about “Preparing for your first session.” Also, the fact that they are unwilling to do their homework gives you some idea about why they are in the mess they are in:> Just keep encouraging them to take personal responsibility. If they refuse to do their homework ahead of time take time in their session to look at the information. To the degree that they understand the Purpose, Principles and Process their sessions will go better and they will be more prone to make TPM a lifestyle.

    Blessings
    Ed

  5. Three of us are attending your training in Colorado. Do you recommend that we purchase the Essentials book ahead of time to review before July? We have been reading through your articles online for the past couple of years so the Essentials book chapters are very familiar.

  6. Yes indeed! You are encouraged to order ahead of time and read what you can. You will retain more and get more from the training if you do. Looking forward to being with you all.
    Blessings

  7. Yaaay, finally getting some print editions of the materials for us oldies who love to turn page corners down and highlight special points 🙂
When I first tried searching Amazon.com to see if this will ship to Australia I put The Essentials of TPM into the search bar and came up with nothing. Only when I put The Essentials of Transformation Prayer Ministry into the search bar did it appear and although I did not complete the order it appeared that it was going to be able to be shipped to Australia. Will be contacting all my TPM contacts and letting them know that we can order both Effortless Forgiveness and The Essentials books now here in the land down under 🙂 Thanks guys for your huge efforts in getting these books to us. Blessings ….

  8. Quisiera obtener una copia del libro The Essentials of Transformation Prayer Ministry. Yo vivo en Costa Rica y no tuve suerte al intentar encontrar el libro en Amazon.com. Me pueden ayudar por favor a obtener una copia de este libro,

  9. Thank you for your important work.
I don’t live near any of the training sites and am wondering if there are plans to record the seminars and make them available or to put the videos online?

  10. Yes, the goal is for Ed and Joshua to record the presentation after the last scheduled seminar. And those recordings will be made publically available!

  11. I’m really liking this ministry. I haven’t been this excited about an approach to ministry in a long time. We sent a donation but I feel you really should be supported monthly. We are praying about the amount we will support with. When you were talking about monthly support I saw your ministry becoming the size of Joyce Meyer or bigger and healing the nations. It’s going to happen. Thank you for what you’re doing. Have a blessed night! We will see you in the morning.

  12. Would you train person from who is a practicing Roman Catholic ?

  13. Actually the largest group of people using this ministry are the Catholics. The Body of Christ is very diverse in its theological perspectives, but we can all agree that Jesus is Lord, the Spirit is still speaking to His true church and His sheep still hear his voice.

  14. Bill
Thank you for your kind support. It is because of people like you who are standing with us monthly that we can do what we do. As far as how “big” TPM becomes, we are letting God work that out. The “big” things that excite us daily are all we see happening in the lives of each person whose heart is being persuaded of the truth by His Spirit. Thank you for partnering with us!

  15. I am working with a sister in Christ in the TPM Essentials. We both ordered The Essentials and The Process of TPM books. She ended up with the 2nd edition and I have the first edition. We are currently in lesson three and have noticed our books don’t match up. It is a problem for us and wonder if this issue will continue? We were not told this would be a problem and are concerned that it might continue in the entire study.

  16. Hello, the second edition of the Essentials of TPM has several important additions that were missing from the first edition. When the second edition was released last year, the digital version was also updated. You can download it for free by going here: https://www.transformationprayer.org/get-instant-access-to-our-downloads/?swcfpc=1
Or, if you prefer to have an updated physical copy, simply order the second edition and have it shipped to you. I hope this answers your question. Please let us know if we can help further.
